Food + Space + Flowers

The Work

Lumo Ombro is a consulting practice and a boutique cultural hospitality brand in the same breath.

Steven Hubbell and Manena Frazier work with restaurants, hotels, and private clients across New York designing menus, building bar programs, creating spaces, painting walls, and arranging flowers with the same unhurried attention they bring to everything. The work is layered by design: each service draws from the same sensibility, and clients who come for one thing tend to discover they need another.

The Location

We are raising to open our first brick and mortar home: a restaurant, bar, and floral studio in Tribeca, New York City. A Cat Named Bara will be the restaurant. The Lumo Ombro Bar will run day to night. The floral studio will live in the front of house and take its work out into the city. We have run a three month proof of concept and are ready to bring the full vision to life. It is the physical expression of everything we have been building, a place that is ours, rooted in a neighborhood, and built to last.

The Founders

Steven Hubbell earned his Michelin star at Junoon in New York and Dubai, and has spent fifteen years opening and leading kitchens that people remember. Manena Frazier spent fifteen years as the Visual Director at ABC Carpet & Home, building one of New York’s most celebrated retail environments into a destination. They are partners in Lumo Ombro and in life which means that when they walk into a space together, the food and the design are never two separate conversations.

They are one.
